“On Land and Sea – a Tale of Robert Louis Stevenson
                      and Treasure Island”
    In a new pictorial essay, Monterey Historian John Sanders reconstructs the Monterey that stirred Stevenson’s brilliant imagination and shaped a literary classic.  Join the RLS Club and Monterey State Historic Park Association for the premiere performance.

  Place:   Stevenson House, 530 Houston St, Monterey, CA

    Price:  $15 (General Admission), $10 (MSHPA / RLS Club Members)
      [Fund-raiser for Monterey State Historic Parks Association, Light  refreshments and beverages are included]

Tickets may be purchased at Custom House Store, Custom House Plaza, 10 am-4pm; or by check, payable to MSHPA, and mailed to Lindy Perez, P.O. Box 51504, Pacific Grove, CA 93950 (include email address or phone number).  Tickets can be picked up at Stevenson House on day of event.  Seating is limited.  Tickets will not be sold at the door.

Meet author Joseph Farrell who will be just back from Vailima!

Joseph Farrell, author of “Robert Louis Stevenson in Samoa” is Emeritus Professor at the University of Strathclyde, Glasgow. He, and his wife Maureen, are stopping off in California after their visit to Samoa and RLS’ home “Vailima”. We have the great pleasure of welcoming them and hear his talk.  

We are fortunate to hear his presentation at the Hacienda Carmel where several RLS Club members reside. The talk will also be open to any interested residents of the Hacienda Carmel community as well as their friends and neighbors at nearby Del Mesa Carmel. If you have a guest you would like to bring please feel welcome.

December 13-14, 2019 (Friday-Saturday), 5-9 pm. 36th Christmas in the Adobes.

A Valentine Party and Literary Salon to discuss The Treasure of Franchard, a short story by RLS.  Meet at the home of Maureen and Hugo Bianchini, 309 Mar Vista, Monterey (driveway and street parking).
